Everyday food preparation activities can be improved. In addition to or instead of classic spices, try adding herbs to your meals. You will be surprised by new tastes, and you will offer your body everything it needs to function properly and improve health.
We all, more or less, rely on ready-made or dishes prepared very quickly. The reason for that is the chronic lack of time caused by daily obligations. How does all this affect health and your body as a whole? Very bad! It has already become an emergency situation, in which it is necessary to take certain activities to combat the occurrence of various diseases. In short, it is necessary to slow down the way of life and adapt to the requirements of the organization. Humans are not machines and have clear limits – physical and physiological. So let’s listen to the organism and offer it what it really does. This could be the following:
To begin with, we should return to the normal needs of the organism. So, daily meals need to be divided into three basic groups – breakfast, lunch and dinner. Many will justify that it would be an almost impossible mission, again due to business obligations, but with a little effort and taking care of one’s own health, anything is possible. Let’s go in order:
The breakfast
For the most important meal of the day, try making sweet pumpkin bread with hawthorn berries. The following ingredients are needed to prepare this dish:
– Three cups of whole-wheat flour
– Half a cup of dried hawthorn berries powder
– A teaspoon of baking powder
– Two teaspoons of baking soda
– A teaspoon of sea salt
– A teaspoon of (Ceylon) cinnamon
– Half a teaspoon of powdered ginger
– On top of a teaspoon of ground cloves
– 450 grams of grated pumpkin
– A cup of sugar
– Two mashed bananas
– vanilla teaspoon extract
– Half a cup of olive oil
– Half a cup of honey
– Half a cup of milk
– A quarter cup of yoghurt
The preparation of sweet pumpkin bread is done as follows:
Mix all dry ingredients in one bowl and the rest in another. Mix all the ingredients in each of the bowls well and combine. Pour the resulting mixture into a mould, previously lubricated or lined with baking paper. Use the time spent to prepare the mixture to heat the oven to 350 F, and then place the baking tray/mould in it. Bake for just under an hour. When the baking tray/mould is removed from the oven, break it with a clean linen cloth and leave it to cool for about 20 minutes. Then, cut into slices and consume. The bread prepared in this way is tasty and cold, so you can prepare it for the coming morning during the evening. Energetically and in composition, this dish has all the necessary elements in the organism to supply the necessary energy for daily activities and efforts, as well as the necessary vitamins, minerals, amino acids and fats that contribute to the stable state of the body.
Lunch
Chicken with quinces and thyme is suggested for this meal. A light meal is not only very tasty, but it brings substances to the body that are necessary for that part of the day, just when the nutrients taken in during the morning hours are consumed. The following names are required to prepare this dish:
– Four medium-sized quinces
– A kilo of chicken white meat
– A cup of apple juice
– A cup of water
– Half a spoon of brown sugar
– Half a cup of flour
– Half a teaspoon of salt
– A tablespoon of olive oil
– Two teaspoons of coriander
– Two teaspoons of thyme
– On the tip of a knife ground black pepper
The preparation of this dish is quite simple and does not require special culinary skills. On the contrary, even beginners in the kitchen can easily and efficiently prepare chicken with quince and thyme. So, the procedure is as follows:
Peel a squash, grate it and remove the seeds. Then, put them in a larger pot, then add apple juice and water. Put on the stove and cook until it boils, then add sugar and continue cooking for the next 10 minutes. While the quinces are cooking in apple juice and water, prepare the chicken by cutting it into pieces as desired, salt it, roll it in flour, and fry it briefly in olive oil to get a nice yellow colour. Then add coriander and thyme, then pepper and put everything together in a fireproof dish. Add the prepared quinces to the meat by placing the slices between the pieces of chicken, and then pour the juice in which they were cooked. Cover the pan and bake for about 20 minutes at 390 F. Cool and serve the dish.
Dinner
This should be a light meal so that the stomach is not overloaded and spoils the quality of sleep. So try pasta with milfoil. To prepare this dish, you need:
– Spaghetti or pasta of your choice
– A quarter cup of butter – preferably unsalted
– Four cloves of garlic – mashed
– 450 grams of finely chopped champignons
– Two tablespoons of flour
– A cup of vegetable soup
– A teaspoon of dried rosemary
– A teaspoon of dried yarrow
– Half a dried thyme
– Half a teaspoon of dried basil
– Half a cup of miller
– A quarter cup of the grated whole cheese
– A quarter cup of parmesan
This dish, as before, is not gastronomically demanding, so everyone can prepare it on their own. With a little effort, you will get a very tasty dish with high nutritional values, which is also filling. Here’s how the preparation goes:
Prepare the pasta in the usual way. When it is done, rinse it and drain it well. Melt the butter and fry the champignons and mashed garlic on it. Simmer for about five minutes. After that, add the flour and stir constantly for one minute, add the soup and dried herbs and stir everything together for the next minute or two. Then add milk cream, parmesan and cheese, salt and pepper to taste and stir everything a little more. Pour the sauce over the prepared pasta and sprinkle with chives. If you don’t have it, you can use a primrose, spice or any other spice to taste. Serve hot.
Dessert
Finally, if you are a fan of sweets, here is one that could fit into the whole story of a healthy diet. Lemon balm and chamomile jelly are light and easy desserts to prepare. The following ingredients are needed for this candy:
– Four tablespoons of lemon balm and chamomile, mixed in a ratio of 1: 1
– Two tablespoons of sugar
– Lemon juice
– 10 tablespoons of gelatin
Like previous dishes, no special culinary skills are required for dessert. This candy is easy to prepare, and here’s how.
Gelatin tablets that can be found in supermarkets, health food stores or pharmacies, pour cold water over them to dissolve them easily. Heat 750 millilitres of water to boiling, then add the mixture of herbs to it and leave it on the side covered to stand for about 10 minutes. When the “tea” has cooled, strain it and add sugar and lemon juice to the liquid. Stir until the sugar dissolves, then leave to cool. Combine with jelly, then pour into bowls. Put a sprig of fresh lemon balm in each of them. This step is not obligatory, but it will give a very nice visual effect. Leave the bowls in the fridge to cool completely and serve as desired.
