A technique in communication that will reveal the truth to you

Each of us would like to avoid lying, but it is often difficult to recognize that a close person or business partner is telling a lie.

People who frequently tell lies begin to accept them as the truth, they tell them so confidently, without questionable tone and body language, which is why some “lies” are impossible to expose.

However, there is a simple technique that helps identify lies and that is useful in communication to reveal the truth. Start with a series of harmless questions.

For example, ask about what you know or what a person is unlikely to lie about: where he was born, did he have children, where does he work?

Follow the gaze of the interlocutor every time he answers, and see in which direction his eyes are moving. Eye movements are related to which part of a person’s brain is used to receive information.

Summarizing the results

After determining how the interlocutor looks when he tells the truth, ask a question he does not want to answer truthfully.

For example, why was the last relationship broken, or why did you leave your last job? If the eyes move in the other direction, the person does not return the memories but tries to think of something and to agree with you.

Eye movements during a conversation are extremely difficult to fake, even if you try. You have to be incredibly intelligent to control your eyes as you tell a lie, be meaningful, and keep the conversation going.

So the next time you suspect someone is lying to you, just try this method and look them in the eye. The saying “Eyes are the mirror of the soul” is obviously not just an ordinary phrase.

Why do people lie?

Mostly they do it to get some benefit, and not less often people use untruth to please others as much as possible.

Telling lies, or adding things, colouring reality is just a feature of low self-confidence, because a person uses lies to leave a better impression at a job interview or a romantic date.

There is also the expression “white lies” which are considered good, but the experience of each of us shows that we pay a much higher price for a lie than when we tell the truth.
